INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES
Valued Partnerships
We are honored to partner with indigenous communities through initiatives such as the Sports for Social Development in Indigenous Communities (SSDIC) grant. With this funding, we provide two fitness classes per week, focusing on movement and mental health, for 10 weeks per cycle, four times a year. Our classes are designed for both youth and adults, and aim to support community members' social development and emotional and mental well-being.

MALAHAT NATION
Located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, the MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat) Nation is a proud Indigenous community with a rich cultural heritage. As part of our partnership, we work closely with the community to provide personalized fitness and wellness services that incorporate traditional knowledge and practices. We respect and honor the Malahat Nation's unique cultural identity and strive to create a welcoming, inclusive, and sustainable environment that supports their health and wellness goals.

ESQUIMALT NATION
The Esquimalt Nation, also known as Xwsepsum or Kosapsum, is a small coastal nation located on Esquimalt Harbour. For thousands of years, the Esquimalt people have been stewards of the land, living in harmony with the natural environment and its resources. Their relationship with the land and sea is deeply ingrained in their culture and traditions, which include ceremonies and a Sacred Trust to protect and preserve the natural world. As partners with the Esquimalt Nation, we recognize and honor their ancestral knowledge and commitment to stewardship, and are grateful for the opportunity to support their community through fitness and mental health programs.
